C11- Bangkok City Tour by Tuk Tuk

It was said  that “If you visit Bangkok without riding a Tuk Tuk, it means  you have never been to Thailand yet“, so let’s do it.

We start from pick up from your hotel, Tuk Tuk passing here at Ratchaprasong Area, a large shopping complex. This is one of most respected Hindu Shrines, Bramah God. Not only Thais come to worship, but also foreigners do.

We are passing Wat Trimitr: The Golden Buddha Temple which houses the largest golden Buddha Image in the world. In our next tour video, we will take you to visit Bangkok Temple Tour that you will discover more about this Golden Buddha.

Right in front of you is The Royal Jubilee Gate : The China Town Entrance. We are riding along Yaowarat Road. China Town of Bangkok. It is the largest of Thai-Chinese Community in Thailand. At day time this commercial area is well-known for Gold-Trading, Chinese goods but at the night time this street becomes a very popular street food.

After passing China Town, we also are riding close to The Little India : a collection of Fabrics and Garments.

Looking at high ahead of you is the Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge or The Memorial Bridge, built in 1932 :  which is the second bridge was built to cross the Chao Praya River, the main river of Thailand.

Passing by now is Pak Klong Talad, the biggest flowers market of Thailand. You can find various types of flowers, domestic or even imported ones. And also fruits and vegetables.

As you see on your left , it is one of The Metropolitan Police Station of Bangkok. The building was built in 1915 with the influence of Western Baroque Architecture Style.

Our Tuk Tuk ride, on our left is Wat Pho, well-known as The Reclining Buddha Temple. This is the famous Buddha Image which is ranked as the third biggest Reclining Buddha image in Thailand but it is the most beautiful Reclining Buddha image in Thailand.

Our Tuk Tuk is running along the tall white wall , what we see  behind the wall is The Grand Palace and The Emerald Buddha Temple.

Passing now are The Buildings of Ministry of Defense. The exterior wall is in yellow and white. And the next one is The Buildings of Ministry of Interior. The exterior wall is in Gray and White. You can notice that all these buildings are in Western Styles

Right here what you see, A Red double Tower post. It is Giant Swing. 22 meters high. It was built in the reign of King Rama I of Bangkok in Hindu Belief. It is believed that Shiva God would visit the world 10 days a year and then Vishnu God will come visit another 5 days, so The Swinging Ceremony will perform in the meaning of welcoming both Gods. This ceremony is abolished in the reign of King Rama VII.

We are passing the old quarters of Bangkok. On your right is The Building of City Hall.

In front of you is the Democracy Monument. It was built in 1940 to commemorate the changing of Thailand administration system, from Absolute Monarchy to Democracy.

On your right is Bangkok Pavilion, it is situated at the Old Bangkok Gate. The Welcoming Bangkok Guests Ceremony will be performed here, including a traditional show to honor the guests. And the Bangkok City Key will be given to the guests by the governor of Bangkok as well.

You can see the Metal Roof Building of Wat Ratchanadda in the back. On your left is The Golden Stupa on the mountain of Wat Saket.

Now we are riding a circle around The Equestrian Statue of King Rama V on The Ground of Dusit Palace. Behind the statue is Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall. It was built in European Style with the best White Marble from Carrara, Italy. It was the First Parliament of Thailand.

Passing now is Wat Benchamaborpit : The Marble Temple: which also is decorated with white marble from Italy. The temple is perfectly combining with Thai, Chinese, Western, Khmer architectures, arts and materials.
