Train Market (Romhoop Market)

It can be said that it is one of the most unseen places to visit in Samut Songkhram. It is considered one of amazing-Thailand attractions. Train Market or Romhoop Market is a market with a railroad track running through the middle spreading over a 100-metre length, the market is located by the railway.

 Vendors at the market put the shelters stick into the railway where visitors walk and do their shopping. When each signal of the arriving train rings, vendors will rush to close their parasols and canvas, along with clearing all goods that will obstruct the coming train at a great speed. Once the train passes, parasols and canvas will be reopened as goods are again put into their usual place next to the railroad.

The practice is usual for vendors and local people, but not for tourists who will definitely find the scene exciting and enjoyable at each visit.

 

Amphawa Market

The Amphawa Market is arguably the most attractive of all floating markets near Bangkok. It has retained its authenticity and barely on every tourist map. Every Fri, Sat and Sun, Amphawa Market will be packed by the tourists who come to enjoy canal side views or having delicious food. 

The charm of the Amphawa Market is so much local food such as Thai desserts, seafood, boat noodles, pad Thai, fried oysters, stuffed desserts, banana desserts, and many more. It can be said that it is a paradise for food lovers and various souvenirs. Enjoy walking and tasting various Thai local food or seeing the merchants who row their boats to sell different foods. Wat Bangkung

Wat Bang Kung is an ancient temple built in the Ayutthaya period. The highlight of Wat Bang Kung is the ordination hall is covered with Bodhi, banyan, krai, and krang trees that are over 200 years old, and the roots of these trees help the ordination hall remain in shape. In front of the gable is decorated with crockery that is an art of the Ayutthaya period. Inside the ordination hall enshrine Luang Pho Phuttha Manee Nil, a Buddha image was built in Ayutthaya period in Subduing Mara position which is what miraculously helps to keep the church alive and is considered the Unseen, a beautiful tourist attraction.

Samut Sakhon is the province with the most salt farming in Thailand. The salt fields in Samut Sakhon are classified as sea salt. Salt is produced by bringing sea water up, the natural sun light drying sea water until become a powder of sea salt only salt crystals remained. This type of salt has been produced and used since ancient times. It is regarded as one of the oldest professions in the world and of Thai people in this area.

The piles of white salt looked like small mountains, neatly arranged in one heap after another. It is an impressive sight in the eyes of everyone who has had the opportunity to travel through the salt fields.
